Amazon.com Review

The plot (is the strongest aspect). This is an unusual story- of all the dictatorial practices a world could take on this author has chosen music- something I view as being universally harmless and good. In our world of MP3 players and an ipod attacked to every ear it’s a bold choice.

Product Description

The time – now, the place – America, but in a world where there is almost zero crime, and the government controls all forms of art and creativity. As a result, there is an absence of any rebellious music – rock, hip hop, electronica. Sure, there’s the government sanctioned Muzak, but any music sowing the seeds of anarchy, i.e. sex, drugs and rock & roll, is banned – destroyed if found – its creators and listeners harshly punished. Re-educated. It’s what alcohol was to Prohibition. The only police that exist are those who monitor and seize anything creative from entering into “free” society. They are The Patrol. Merrin Pierce works as an undercover Patrol officer assigned to apprehend a man who threatens the safe fabric of society, only to fall in love with him. She confronts everything she thought to be true – her values, her upbringing, her job, her future.

It was the adventure of a life time. In an obscure marina off the shores of Maryland a schooner unlike any other ever built was discovered. Dorian and Diana Coe purchased the schooner and sailed from the shores of tranquility into the bowels of hell itself.
Prurient tales of suicide, murder, and the disappearance of an entire crew were hand written within the ship’s logs.
On her decks sailed a well seasoned captain and crew that never knew the schooner’s shadowed past. The new owners ignored the words of men with integrity and sailed the Black Witch in the Spring of 1935.
Into the realms of illusion and pure evil the ship and its compliment sailed never knowing the fate awaiting them!

SUMMARY:

Terrorists plan to attack Minnesota’s Prairie River Nuclear Power Plant, but they’re not your typical band of Islamic extremists. True, there’s an al Qaeda connection. But the heart of the ‘terror cell’ is homegrown, right here in the United States.

James “Beck” Becker is a former elite U.S. government intelligence operative who has retired to his childhood hometown of Red Wing, Minnesota – just six miles down the Mississippi from the Prairie River Power Station. He recognizes connections between seemingly unrelated incidents – a murdered agronomy professor, a missing lab assistant, an international cell call, a stolen fertilizer truck, an explosion in the street in front of City Hall – but can’t piece it together in enough detail to convince government authorities that a larger threat exists. Only his American Indian friend, “Bull,” will help Beck defuse the threat.

So it’s Beck and Bull versus the best terror cell west of the Mississippi.

May the better men win.
